How do we determine if some metal will undergo passivation under suitable environment?
But Aluminium Oxide's M.P is higher then Titanium Oxide's M.P yet Titanium still has a better protective layer.

How do we determine if some metal will undergo passivation under suitable environment?
It was a little confusing, so I just removed it. I mean this order seems quite jumble(at-least to me), and it's definitely not apparent from there positions in periodic table . So is there any criterion which must be satisfied(something which we may calculate with concentrations etc) by a metal in order to show passivity? And also can we generalise the result for any metal?

How does solubility of corrosion product affects rate of corrosion?
I just posted the question, I referred to the order of passivity (from Ti to Cu) and asked how do we predict that series, and is it possible to predict if some metal would undergo passivation or not, can you suggest something else to add/edit? this is the link: chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/37877/…

Well experimental analysis is what I am trying to avoid.

If you don't mind me asking, is there a way to determine theoretically if a given metal will undergo passivation?

Consider this example: Formation of PbSO4 in case of Pb in H2SO4 medium supresses further corrosion.
