Mar 13, 2021 at 22:55 comment added Ken Shirriff Kapton and scotch tape are completely different and are dissolved by different solvents, so this is really two separate questions. (Just a warning for people who end up on this page; half the answers are for the wrong type of tape.)

Jan 26, 2018 at 9:44 comment added user157879 How thoroughly do those solvents work? The plastic part of the tape would dissolve easily in acetone, but thoroughly does the adhesive dissolve? I wouldn't expect it to go to the monomer level, but l may be wrong.
