Recently searching on isomers I got to know that Stability of Cis isomer is more than Trans. I referred many books as well as internet but didnt find suitable explanation please can anyone explain me avout it.

Recently, while reading about isomers I learned that cis isomers are more stable than trans isomers.

I referred many books as well as searched around the internet but I didn't find a suitable explanation.

Could someone please explain this to me?
