Jun 13, 2020 at 9:39 | comment | added | ba-13 | This kind of sentence is also mentioned in Finar, though not for carboxylic acids(as I have seen), reason was mentioned as steric acceleration as somehow the loss of H+ relieves the molecule of steric strain(I don't know the exact reason that's why I am commenting) and as amines are Lewis bases, steric retardation acts(groups are hindered during their approach). | |
