I have found the answer and I'm leaving it here in case someone needs it in the future. Professor Kanh have arbitrarily selected E(1/2,1) as the energy zero and subtracted E(1/2,1) from all energies.

You can compare your IR spactra to a database entry. Usually, the database provides examples of spectra from a high purity sample and that way you can even see how pure your sample is.
