One mole of solute (NaCl) is dissolved in 1 litre water. The molarity of solution is

A)<1M

B)>1M

C)=1M

D)=2M

It’s a fairly simple question so, I did what anybody would do.

$Molarity=\frac{No. of moles}{volume of solution}$

$Molarity=1$

That is the obvious answer, and it’s probably right, but the answer given is <1M. Just wanted to confirm if the answer given is right or wrong, and if right, why.
