I have a problem with making the reaktion mechanism Hydrolysis of cis-1-bromo-4-methylcyclohexane.

I know that a general hydrolysis looks like but i am not sure how he endproducts of this reaction are supposed to look like, where does the H and OH bind and what are the products called?

  • $\begingroup$ At its simplest this is an SN2 displacement of Br by OH which will proceed with inversion so you will get a trans product $\endgroup$ – Waylander May 24 at 15:28
