My teacher told me that transition contraction is followed by 4d as well as 5d series like in 3d series where at first z effective dominates the shielding effect but then the comes almost equal and the shielding dominates but i am not able to get any reference for it. Someone please help me out.

For clearer idea In 3d series size decreases from Scandium to manganese where manganese is abruptly large but then the size remains almost constant till copper and then increases abruptly from copper to zinc.

$\begingroup$ It's poorly written, and adding comments in body of question doesn't help. $\endgroup$ – Mithoron Nov 13 at 13:27

  • $\begingroup$ For starters, you are talking about transition metal radius contraction? $\endgroup$ – Mithoron Nov 13 at 13:46

$\begingroup$ There is one long run-on sentence with multiple thoughts crammed into it. Is really hard to understand in the first place. It doesn't help that there are obviously words missing, too. And there is also not enough punctuation. I have a very hard time identifying the actual question. You should polish this question, and while you're at it, give it a proper title. $\endgroup$ – Martin - マーチン Nov 14 at 13:17
