How to interpret protein function after mutation? And with which databases we find the change function of protein after mutations?

  • $\begingroup$ There are four possibilities -1) the mutation in the gene encoding the protein has no effect on the amino acid sequence 2) the AA sequence changes but has no effect on the particular function you are interested in 3) the AA sequence changes and has a negative effect on the function of interest or 4) the AA sequence changes and has a positive effect on the function of interest. $\endgroup$ – Andrew 2 days ago
