Im trying to create an MO energy diagram for the reaction of a chlorine radical with a methyl radical by creating the 5 group orbitals for methyl radical(with pyramidal geometry) and then creating group orbitals from these and the AO's of chlorine with the same symmetry. I obtained a MO diagram with 12 bonding orbitals(4 between orbitals of E symmetry(Px and Py of Cl) and 8 between orbitals of A1 symmetry(with Pz of Cl) and 3 non-bonding orbitals. Is my approach correct?
