Are Hansen solubility parameters available for technical metals and alloys (e.g. aluminium, cast iron, different steels)?

Hansen solubility parameters are available not only for solvents and polymers but also for surfaces of solids like e.g. metal oxides, carbons and copper. For suspensions and coatings of metals, corresponding values of the Hansen solubility parameters are needed.

In general, the Hansen parameters do not add anything to what has been used for the last hundred years or so, particularly the last two. The first parameter is a (simplified) heat of mixing term which is where classic thermodynamics of phases starts from. $\endgroup$ – Jon Custer Feb 3 at 17:27
