While performing inorganic salt analyses in the lab, I mistakenly added Nessler's reagent to a solution of lead acetate (instead of ammonium carbonate) in NaOH. A greenish-yellow solution resulted, instead of the brown one expected for ammonium salts. What could have been the compound(s) formed?
