If buffer capacity is normally at a maximum when pH=pKa because there is an equal concentration of acid and conjugate base in the buffer (so there's an equal amount of substance that can absorb acid and substance that can absorb base), for a diprotic acid such as tartaric acid, given the Bjerrum plot below, would buffer capacity be maximum when pH = 3.9 (estimate) as the amount of substance that can absorb base is equal to the amount of substance that can absorb acid?
