I have been studying chemistry for a while but I feel a total noob about it, so please be clear when answering.

I was studying and I encountered this exercise: Write the reaction between copper and concentrated nitric acid.

Write the reaction between copper and concentrated nitric acid.

Now, I know what copper is and also what nitric acid is, but how do I figure out that the reaction gives $$Cu(NO_3)_2 + NO + H_2O$$$$\ce{Cu(NO3)2 + NO + H2O}$$ ?
